Classroom!Good morning, Grizzlies! Today is Monday, April 11, 2016. What Are We Doing Today? Today, we are in the classroom practicing our presentation and answering questions. We changed our presentation around a bit causing it to be difficult to adjust to these changes, some of us got blank minded while presenting, including me ! I was trying to present and say what I was going to say and I just went completely blank and I was so scared everyone would be mad at me for messing up. It's okay to mess up. We at least learn from our mistakes. I will practice it more and make sure I don't go blank minded again. Our presentation is amazing and it really shows how much work we put into our car and this team. We cannot wait to present. It's going to be scary, but fun at the same time. We hope the judges enjoy our presentation and see our knowledge reflected from our presentation and car. I think we are going to do good. I wish good luck to our team and all the other teams. Sadly, there are no recent updates for the blog. I need you guys to send your feedback and suggestions to us. Comment, complete a blog survey, or email us your feedback and suggestions. We want to improve and add more to the website. We always love improving because there is no limit! Our race day is so close! I will start to post a countdown for the race. I take a screenshot of the Greenpower USA website because they have a counter. If you would like to know more about the race, you can go to Greenpower USA's website. Shop!Good morning, Grizzlies! Today is Friday, April 8th, 2016. What are we doing today? Today, we are in the shop. The main thing we are working on is working with Mr. Kruse. Mr. Kruse is drilling a hole into our seat pad. If we do this, we can keep our seat pad from coming up when we do pit. This is important because we want a very fast pit time and we want to get as many laps in as we can. We are also working on wheel covers. The wheel covers are an aerodynamic aspect that helps out with allowing us to go faster, to get more laps in. We are also working on booklets. The booklets show who we are and what we do. We are also working the volt meter! I am writing the blog and making sure you guys get your daily dose of Green Grizzlies' blog. I have to make sure you guys know what we are doing today! We still haven't received any recent feedback from you guys. We want to know what you guys think about our website/ blog. It's very important to us! We love to improve! I think the blog/ website looks great in my eyes, but like I said there is always more room to improve. I really want to hear you guys feedback for the recent blogs! I try my hardest to add more things and get more suggestions! If you have any suggestions/ commentary, please complete a survey on our blog, email us, or fill out a contact us page. Don't be afraid to tell us what you think!! The answer to yesterday's riddle is empty. Riddle of the Day: Q:What travels around the world but stays in one spot? With more to come, Carlee from Green Grizzlies shop!Good morning, Grizzlies! Today is Thursday, April, 7th 2016. What are we doing today? Today, we are in the shop, practicing pit. Why are we practicing? Our race is in about two weeks. With that being said, race day is not far at all. I think that practicing is wonderful and will help us. When we timed our first time, we got about 13 seconds. When we practiced pit for the second time, we got about 14 seconds. The straps were just right on the first driver, too loose on the seconds driver, and too tight on the third driver. It is a little odd, but I think it is because they have different body shapes. I think we are going to fix the straps. If we fix the straps, we will be able to have our drivers comfortable and safe while they are driving. We have to make sure we entitle our drivers to full safety. We do not want anyone getting hurt! Like the other day, I discussed how I was thinking about adding things to the blog. I haven't got any feedback from you guys! If you guys do have feedback, please email, comment, or complete a survey by clicking the word here in the " Tell Us What You Think" box to the right on the screen. We want to here what you think about our blog! We love to hear what you have to say. Give us suggestions, too! We would love to add more stuff to the blog. The race is coming up very fast! We want you guys to come out to see us race! Riddle of the Day: ( The answer to yesterday's riddle was rain) Q: Take away my first letter, and I still sound the same. Take away my last letter, I still sound the same. Even take away my letter in the middle, I will still sound the same. I am a five letter word. What am I? With more to come, Carlee from Green Grizzlies Classroom!Good morning, Grizzlies! Today is Wednesday, April 6, 2016. What Are We Doing Today? We are discussing things prior to the race. Our mentor had a meeting yesterday about how there are now 14/24 cars for the race. If they get one more, we have to do two heats, which would take more time. We want the best for our drivers and to make sure they are fully entitled to their safety. I think most of what she was saying was reminders for the race. We will have a practice on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. I think that it is good we will be having a practice. I cannot wait to see how well our practices help us for the actual race. We will be in the shop tomorrow and Friday. Friday is a half-day, so we will have 25 minute classes and will be getting out early. Mr. Kruse is coming on Friday to help us. I think he will be coming at 9:00. Some of us are coming to the shop during our 6th period during the half day. I hope everything goes great! I do not know how much you guys are liking the blog with the riddles, but I haven't heard any feedback from any of you or the team. I think I like it a lot better than the jokes because I can add riddles every day and they exercise your brain. When I add jokes, they don't really do anything because most of the time ,they are very cheesy. Hopefully, you guys are liking the new addition to the blog. I will think of more things to add to the blog! Remember, you guys can send in suggestions for the blog!! The answer for yesterday's riddle was the letter m. Riddle of the day: Q: What comes down, but cannot come up? With more to come, Carlee from Green Grizzlies Classroom!Good morning, Grizzlies! Today is Tuesday, April 5th, 2016. What Are We Doing? We are practicing presenting and answering questions. We have gave everyone a topic to cover when they are being asked. When we do this, we are allowing ourselves to be prepared for race day and presentation day. We are ready! We did great in our practice today! I think that we are actually ready to do it for real. It seems like we are fully prepared. The only problem is fidgeting and swaying back and forth during the presentation. I think we can overcome that though! We are only answering presenting and answering questions today. We aren't really doing anything else. We have really improved from our last presentation at the fall race. We went from 6 people presenting to almost our whole group presenting. Everyone is answering questions and making sure we know what to cover when it comes time to answer questions. While I am thinking about it, the answer to yesterday's riddle was smile because it has the word mile between the 2 s's. I hope that we are prepared for the race and presentation day. We are trying to do our best and keep on improving. Even when you think it is enough, you can keep on improving and that's what this team will do until we cannot improve anymore. Like I said before in a previous blog, most of our team are 8th graders and we are going to miss Greenpower! I think some of us are going to do Greenpower in high school. I really wish them good luck and hope that they do great! We have another riddle today! I hope the riddle is not too hard for you guys! Riddle of the day: Q: What occurs once in a minute, twice in a moment and never in one thousand years? With more to come, Carlee from Green Grizzlies Shop!Good morning, Grizzlies! Today is Monday, April 4th, 2016. What is 19 days away? RACE DAY!!! What are we doing? Today, we are in the shop! We are doing a few things! We are working on alignment and pump up some tires. Pete is also driving today. We do not have a practice this week because of the track team and our mentor has meetings. I think it would have been better if we had a race this week, but it is fine. I think we are well prepared for the race. I think that we just need to have a little bit more practice, but other than that, we have nothing to really improve. Race day is super close and I cannot not wait for it. From what I have heard, there are 13 teams so far. If we get 2 or 3 more teams, we have to do two different races. I think it is great that more schools are getting involved in Greenpower. It really does teach a lot for our future. Many of young adults will be well prepared for their futures! Good news! I thought of something to add to the blog! Riddles! They are always fun! I will post a riddle and you guys have to guess what it is! I will post the answer the following day or at the end of the day if I have time. I think you guys will like this a lot more than the jokes because it is more interactive. I like the riddles a lot better than jokes, too! If you guys have anything you think I should add to the blog, please give us your feedback. We have a survey link that you guys can go too! As you are reading this right now, look to the right of your screen. Do you see the heading " Tell Us What You Think!"? You cant get to our blog's survey, just from clicking the word "here". Isn't that neat? I think it is! When you guys give us feedback, we are trying to improve. Please give us your feedback! You would be helping us out a lot! I have already announced this, but I will be writing a live blog during race day. I think I will try to update the blog after we present the previous day of the race and during the race. By me doing this, you guys can understand what is going on! We always want you guys to know what is going on!! We hope you to see you guys at the race day!! Riddle of the day: Q: What is the longest word in the dictionary? I will reveal the answer tomorrow! With more to come, Carlee from Green Grizzlies Shop!Good morning, Grizzlies! Today is Friday, April 1, 2016. What Are We Doing Today? We are working on many things, today. One of the many things that we are working on today are booklets. We have people working on the booklets for the members on our team. I think it's very cool and I cannot wait to see how they all turn out! Another thing we are working on is drilling a hole where the seat pad is. We are doing this because we do not want our seat pad coming up and have to spend extra time putting it back down when we are changing during pit. I think this is a great idea and it will be a great safety precaution that we are doing. We are also working on rotating tires. By doing this, we are changing our tires to different tires! We have 22 days until our race!! I think Lindsey is the only one working on our power point. Mr. Kruse is helping with drilling the hole where the seat pad is. While we are doing these many things, I am writing the blog! I am making sure you get your daily dose of Green Grizzlies' blog . We are so excited to for the race ! It is so close!! As we are coming to an end, I am going to try to add two pictures to the blog. It will sort of be a before and after thing. I will be getting a picture from last year and comparing to this year. By doing this, it shows how much we have improved and showing our improvement shows we are confident. I hope you guys like the way that I will start to set things up! I am very excited for it!!!!
