Christina and Sadie are coming up with alternative suggestions to the video presentation. The team wants to do a live presentation so we can showcase are speaking skills. Today we are updating the presentation and adding the community slide. Corbin cannot be in the video, so we had to change his slides. Josh is now taking over Corbin’s slide. Sadie is now the only one on her slide. Instead of Josh and I sharing a slide, I am doing the blog slide and he only has that one. Christina is in charge of fixing the slides and who is doing which one. We had to move slides around to make them flow smoother. Will V and Josh are going to get the speed sensor from the shop to give to Christina’s dad. Pete, Will A, Ian, and Aiden are counting the money and adding it to the spreadsheet. The new snacks really payed off, and we made more profit. Corbin, Sadie, and Sean are coming up with ideas for giving back to the community. Will A had the idea to clean up the Green Mountain. Some ideas were really good and we plan to act on them. We had to take a team vote on what we want to do.
Riddle of the Day: This old one runs forever, but never moves at all. He has lungs nor throat, but still a mighty roaring call. What is it? With more to come, Ella and Josh Today the team is starting work again. The blog hasn’t been updated in a while, but now that the team is starting back work we have reason to update. Pete and Will A are restocking the cart because we just got new snacks. We were running low and now we are fully stocked. Aiden and Ian counted the money we made and added it to the spreadsheet. Because we were running so low on snacks, we didn’t make as much as we usually do. The new stock should bring up the money we earn. Corbin, Sadie, Thomas, and Christina are brainstorming ideas on how we can give back to the school and/or the community. The outreach team is running different ideas with the rest of the team. The next race we have has a theme which is how we give back to the community. Sean, Ian, and Will V are working on Solid Edge, and are receiving help on some of their issues. Josh is finding quotes, riddles, and jokes because we haven’t had the need for new ones since the blog has been last updated.
Inspiration of the day: “There is no man living that cannot do more than he thinks can.” -Henry Ford Explanation: The team can achieve anything with hard work and perseverance. With more to come, Ella and Josh Today Christina is adding pictures to the presentation. Aiden and Corbin are counting the money and Ian is adding it to the excel sheet. Pete and Thomas are organizing the cart and restocking everything that is running low. Aiden and Corbin went to go and get the other Will A and Josh are finding a joke. Christina and Sadie were able to find a joke after much searching. They are having a hard time because they cannot find any god jokes that we haven’t used. Sean and Ian are working on Solid Edge. They had to ask someone how to fix something on the program because it wasn’t working properly. Thomas is organizing chargers and cords. Sadie and Christina are updating the website and adding pictures.
Answer to yesterday’s Riddle: Noise Joke of the day: I tried to take a picture of some fog, I ‘mist’. With more to come, Ella and Josh Today Christina, Sadie, and Pete are putting the stickers on the helmet. They have to be very precise when putting the stickers so they don’t have bubbles or are crooked. She had been able to print them on her own for less than what it was going to be for if we got them professionally done. The stickers look very clean and well done. They make the helmets look more customized and professional. The green color really pops against the matte black of the helmet. Ian, Aiden, and Corbin are counting the money from the cart and adding it to the spreadsheet. We are going to deposit the money tomorrow. Will A is organizing the snack cart and restocking everything that has been really popular. We have made a lot of profit with some of the more popular items and we will continue to sell them as long as they are popular with the students. Will V, Sean, Pete, and Josh are measuring certain parts and adding them to Solid Edge. They also are working on the nosecone. Thomas is organizing and counting parts.
Riddle of the Day: What is that which goes with a car, comes with a car, is of no use to the car, and yet the car cannot go without it? With more to come, Ella and Josh Today we are weighing the car. We had to get the car race day ready and put back on everything we took off so we would get an accurate measurement of our car with and without our drivers. Will A has counted the money we made from yesterday’s sales. Christina’s dad was kind enough to let us use his tools and taught us about what some of the tools he brought. We were interrupted with a severe weather drill, but we are getting back on track and trying to catch up with what we could have done. Some of the team had to do other work so we are missing some members but we are making do with what we have. Thomas is trying to find a joke for the blog. Aiden and Josh went to go get the snack cart and bring it down to the shop. We are staying in the shop through 8th period, so we decided to just bring the snack cart to the shop and work on it here.
Joke of the Day: The problem with math puns is that the calculus jokes and are all derivative, trigonmoetry jokes are too graphic, algebra jokes are too formulaic, and arithmetic jokes are pretty basic. But I guess the occasional statistics jokes is an outlier. With more to come, Ella and Josh Happy 200th day of the blog! Today Ian and Will A counted how much money we made from the Academic Team Meet and from outside. We made fifty-four dollars from the meet and outside. Even though we didn’t make as much as we thought we would, we still made a good amount and it will help us get the items we need. Sadie and Christina are still editing and revising the stickers for the helmets and are seeing what they can change to make it look nicer and more professional. Aiden and Will A are looking at tires that we could possibly get to replace our current ones. Sean, Will V, and Ian are working on our newly redesigned nose cone on Solid Edge after receiving help in changing it from the old one to the current one. Some of the measurements are changed and the design is slightly different from the old one. The new version could help is in racing and help cut through the air and improve our speed.
With more to come, Ella and Josh Today the team is preparing for the Academic Team meet where will be selling snacks. The meet is a great way for us to raise money and awareness for Greenpower. We have decided who will be our ambassador and help guide people to wear they need to be. Sadie and Will A are making signs for what we will be selling at the meet. Ian and Sean our counting the money from the previous day when we sold and are adding it to our spreadsheet. Christina, Will V, and Sadie are perfecting the helmet stickers. Christina is looking for cheaper alternative for printing the stickers. Thomas and Josh are counting our supplies for when some Greenpower teachers are going to china to teach about what Greenpower is and promote it.
Inspirational Quote: “What we think, we become.” -Buddha Explanation: In Greenpower we need to have a positive attitude otherwise the team does not work well. During practice and in the classroom, we must visualize what we want to accomplish and then work on our goals. The team has a very strong vision of where we want to go, so we must work hard towards our goals. With more to come, Ella and Thomas Today Aiden and Corbin are counting the money and putting it into the spreadsheet. We made thirty-three dollars and they are trying to put them into money rolls. We will soon have enough to buy all our wanted items for the car. Pete and Ian are making the sticker designs on a pdf file that we can easily give to who is making our stickers. We need to finish the helmet stickers so we can get them printed as soon as possible. These stickers will make our boring, black helmets pop against all the others. Will V and Sean are working on a new design for the nose cone. We decided on a new design that we think will benefit us more than the parable shape. Will A is making a sign for the chips on the snack cart. Thomas is looking at ways for us to attract new sponsors to the team.
Answer to yesterday’s riddle: eye Joke of the day: I heard Apple is building an automatic car, but they are having trouble installing windows. With more to come, Ella and Josh Today we had a team meeting and discussed what the tasks were for the day. Christina, Pete, and Ian are working on what we could make our nose cone look like. They discussed with the rest of the team what the pros and cons are of each nose cone design. Thomas, Sean, and Ella sorted and organized different materials for another group’s project. They had to be very good at counting because it was important that they had the right amount of each amount. Sean and Ella had to cut a meter worth of string and had to make sure they didn’t overcut. Aiden and Will V. are making model of the project to show the others. Corbin and Sadie made signs for the new shipment of our snack cart. Will A, Ian, and Corbin counted the money we made from our afterschool selling and from when we sold to the lower campuses showing of the movie. They sold almost everything from our snack cart except for a few chip bags and some water. We made a lot of profit from selling to the lower campus, and next Monday we will be selling during an Academic Team competition which should bring in new people to know about our team and make possible donations to the team.
