Good afternoon!

Today is going to be a very eventful day! John David has been working diligently on putting the rear axel assembly together. What we are most ecxited about, however, is getting to meet the future Green Grizzlies this afternoon! Our leads will give them a walk through of the shop and give them a few basic lessons on presenting, aerodynamics, and the batteries. We hope we can help prepare this future team to continue on our legacy and keep the "spirit" alive (pun intended!)

With more to come,
Lindsey

Good morning!

Today was an exciting day! Our three groups learned the results of their business plans. All the groups did very well, and each of them won multiple categories. The whole team is very proud of the results of this project because we came up with multiple fundraising ideas, and our future team gained experience with Outreach. Everyone enjoyed the friendly competition, and now we are on to our next project!

Since Greenpower is preparing students to become engineers, we decided it would be beneficial for our team members to investigate different engineering careers. Everyone chose different careers they are interested, and are researching different things about that career. We believe this will help us prepare for our future.

Today's Inspiration
"By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail" Benjamin Franklin
It is always necessary to prepare for the future. You should make sure you are always have the materials you need to succeed and are ready for anything that comes your way. A prepared person is a successful person!

With more to come,
Lindsey and John David

Classroom!

Good morning, Grizzlies!
Today is Friday, May 13th, 2016.

Today, we are in the classroom, using our last day to finish up our business plan. We have some people missing today because they are either helping with the elementary field day or absent. We need to use our day wisely because we need to be ready to present on Monday. I think everyone is almost ready. I can't wait to see what everyone choose. I think it is goes to be great. I can't wait! I hope everyone has what they need for their business plan and takes today to finalize everything. I think the leftover people are going to be judges of the presentations. I will possibly do a blog while everyone presents. Therefore, you will be able to know what is going on here in the Green Grizzlies' classroom.

We only have 9 school days left. It is so weird thinking about how I will not be apart of this team next year. It has been so fun and exhilarating. We have learned so much and I think that the upcoming 7th and 8th graders will learn a lot as well. I wish them the best of luck and I hope they raise enough money for whatever improvements they want to make and try their hardest to win races. I know that the previous 8th graders would have done the same for us.  There isn't much to say. This school year has left me speechless and unaccountable for words. I think it has been one of the best years for me because of Greenpower.

Today's Inspiration:

"When you judge another, you do not define them, you only define yourself"  Wayne Dyer

I think that we get so caught up in what other people think of ourselves and we never actually care about what we think. We ignore our views of ourselves. You should never make fun of anyone, no matter what they have done to you. It is not right. Even if they said something to you, whatever they say would be defining them. I think that if you don't have anything nice to say, then do not say anything at all. If you don't want  someone making fun of you, then don't make fun of them because you shouldn't swoop down to their level. Be yourself. Don't let others take you on and try to influence you. Don't let them get you down either. You are you, they are they, we are we, and you are no one else.

                                                                                                                                                                              With more to come,
                                                                                                                                                                                       Carlee from Green Grizzlies

Classroom!

Good morning, Grizzlies!
Today is May 12th, 2016
We hope you are having a great day!

                                                                         What Are We Doing?

Today, we are in the classroom doing the same as yesterday. Tomorrow is the last day for our business plans. We have been working on them for a while and we need to finish them. I think most of the teams are almost finished. I think that it is great that they are getting things done and working together. I cannot wait to see what the business plans are. I hope they are all creative and unique. I would love to see what we could do to raise money for our car and team. I really do hope you guys have everything you need for your business plan because we want to have everything finalized and actually be able to possibly use one of your ideas. We are hoping for the best!

We have ten days left of school. It is very upsetting knowing I have only ten blogs left for you guys. I am going to be very sad because I will not be able to do the blog anymore. I enjoy doing the blog and advertising what our team is doing on certain days. I am going to miss the blog. Like I have mentioned before, I do plan to do a big blog on the last day of blogging. I will try at least. The last day of school is Award's Day. After awards, we will go outside for the rest of the day.  I am really going to miss this team. I hope that we have great business plans and all the requirements. I cannot wait to hear what you guys have created. I hope that this team beats any challenges that come their way, next year. I wish the upcoming 7th and 8th graders good luck and I will try to come to the races and cheer you guys on!  Good luck you guys!

Answer to yesterday's riddle:  The house was one story and didn't have any stairs.

Today's inspiration:
"Nothing is impossible, the word itself says 'I'm possible'!" Audrey Hepburn
Reminder that you can do anything you choose! Never be afraid and never back down. Who knows maybe you are great at that certain task and if you aren't great, you will get better the more you try. I think that you should always do what your gut tells you to do. If you want to try out for something, but you are afraid of being ridiculed for doing it, do it. Once you are able to do it, you will be able to show the people who underestimated you what you are capable of. I believe anyone can do anything, no matter the age, time, place, or etc. Do what makes you happy. If they try to bring you down for being happy, just be even happier.

                                                                                                                                                                                With more to come,
                                                                                                                                                                                      Carlee from Green Grizzlies

Good morning, Grizzlies!
Today is May 11th, 2016

Today, we are continuing yesterday's agenda. We are all still working on our business plans and making sure we all have the requirements needed for our business plan. We do have some feedback on our presentation! The two legible rubrics said we were superior in all categories, except business plan. We didn't have a business plan laid out. We didn't really show how we planned everything. To get a better score, we could have said we were in the PTA newsletter , broadcasting on the morning announcements, and much more.  Our overall score is an eighty seven. I think that is alright. We definitely could have done much better. All we needed was to include our business plan. Congratulations to the other teams who scored great!

Like I have mentioned in the most recent blogs, we do not have many school days left. We are so close to the end of the year and I can't believe it. I think that it is so surprising that the school year has gone by so fast. We have 12 days of school left!

Answer to yesterday's riddle: A needle

Today's riddle: In a one-story pink house, there was a pink person, a pink cat, a pink fish, a pink computer, a pink chair, a pink table, a pink telephone, a pink shower– everything was pink!
What color were the stairs?

                                                                                                                                                       With more to come,
                                                                                                                                                           Carlee from Green Grizzlies

    Race/ presentation!

Even if you did not see us present, we described how we practiced and what we did to prepare ourselves for the presentation, in the blog .
All done!

Good morning, Grizzlies!
Today is May 10th, 2016
Happy Tuesday!

Today, we are in the classroom working on business plans. Yesterday, I found out that we are NOT doing the movie night. We are coming up with our own ideas. We are split in to individual groups creating business plans that would be intelligent to use to raise money for our team and car. Each team has to have correct prices, a flyer, commercial script, map of booth, quantity of items, and schedule/shifts. With everyone doing this, we would be able to find ways to raise money for our car, team, and also the goblin team/car. I think that this is a great idea and I hope everyone comes up with their own ideas and that they are very unique and creative. I can't wait to hear and see what everyone has in store for us to do. I think also along with the requirements for the business plan is pros, cons, gross income, and profit. I think this would be a smart way to eliminate certain fundraisers and find the perfect one for us.

I am sorry about the mix up with what we were doing yesterday. I didn't know until I finished the blog and didn't have time to go back and edit it. I am seriously going to miss doing this blog. We have about 2 weeks left of school. This school year has gone by as fast as Lightening McGreen ( pun intended) . I wish good luck to the upcoming 8th and 7th graders. This team is so fun and helps you prepare for the future and you will enjoy. Good luck you guys!

Answer to yesterday's riddle:
Rainbow ends with 'W'.

Riddle of the day:
What has a single eye but cannot see?

                                                                                                                                                                      With more to come,

                                                                                                                                                                      Carlee from Green Grizzlies

Good morning, Grizzlies!
Today is May 9th, 2016.
Sorry for the absence!

                                                                  What Are We Doing Today?
Today our Outreach team is split into three small groups, each lead by one of our seventh graders. Our main goal right now is to train them to possibly be the leads next year. Each group must come up with a fundraising idea, and create a business proposal for it. This is a triple win situation because:
 1) We are training our seventh graders to lead the team next year.
 2) We are coming up with ideas to raise money.
 3) We are learning the valuable skill of preparing a business proposal, which is something we will most likely do later  in life.
Our Build team also has projects they are working on. These include a more aerodynamic tail cone and back flap, and a rear wheel panel. They are also researching the best drive sprockets and petentiometers.

Answer to the last riddle: A microwave.Generally when you run a microwave for '99' it runs for 1 minute and 39 seconds. '100' runs for 1 minute.

Riddle of the Day : What is at the end of a rainbow?
COME BACK TOMORROW FOR THE ANSWER!

                                                                                                                                                   With more to come,
                                                                                                                                                             Carlee from Green Grizzlies

Good afternoon!

Carlee is sick today, so we will fill in!

Sorry that we haven't been blogging lately. Our school is testing this week so everything has been crazy! Today we were in the classroom, but a few students worked on mechanical projects in the shop. These projects were the new and improved tail cone and back flap. We trained our seventh graders on how to approach sponsors via email so they will know how to for next year. Since the race is over, our main priority has been helping to train the upcoming eight graders so they can keep the continue our legacy!

Joke of the day:
What does a proton say when another proton asks it to marry him?
Positively yes!

Have a great rest of your Wednesday!
