Today is April 29th. We're working in the classroom today without John David, Lindsey, or JM. They are all absent or taking tests. While they're gone, we've assigned each other different jobs to get done, filling the void of our leads. Some of us are working on the tail cone, others finding prices of gears to modify our car with, as well as fundraising and sponsorship ideas to help further fund our Greenpower team. The tail cone and gears will help us increase our speed for the next race. We are also working on changing the gallery page, to make it easier to see and help reorganize it. The changes made will be instead of having one huge page and having to scroll down to see each part of our events, there will be individual tabs for each event so you can go straight to those specific set of photos.

Shop!Buenos días, grisáceos ! Today is Wednesday , April 27th, 2016 What Are We Doing Today? Today, we are working on fundraising, alignment, back flap , and so much more! Why are we working on fundraising? What are we doing with this? What are our ideas? We are working on fundraising to raise money to make improvements towards our car. We want to raise enough money to be able to make our car so much better. I know we can work towards our goal and make the improvements we desire. We have decided to ask our principle about having a movie night. We have already set a date and we are creating business plans for it as well. All we have to do is present our idea to our principle and see what she has to say about it. We hope she likes the idea and supports it. We think it would be a good way to raise money for our team and car. We would have concessions too! We would provide drinks and food. We are coming up with the unit price of the candy, snacks, and drinks. We are really excited. If we do get to do this, we want to do it on May 13th. Our original plan was to play a kid friendly movie that was scary theme, due to it being Friday the 13th. We decided not to because it was too risky. I think we have decided to go with the movie , " Cars". We thought of doing this because our car is named after Lightening McQueen ( Our car is named Lightening McGreen). We thought it would be very clever and appropriate for the occasion. Yesterday, we changed out our race tires to our practice tires. By doing that, we are having to go through the process of making sure there are no problems with the tires and there are no funny noises. We have to make sure our tires are on point and are precisely put on correctly. When we first changed them, they had bulges in the wheel covers. Since that occurred, we had to the bulges out and make sure everything is alright! We are also looking at our gear ratio! We are really hoping to do something with it to improve our speed. I hope we can! We are also working a back flap, I believe. This is important because it protects are batteries and motor from becoming damaged! Answer to yesterday's riddle: The match! Today's riddle: When is 99 more than 100? With more to come, Carlee from Green Grizzlies "My trade and art is to live." Shop! Welcome back!Good morning, Grizzlies! Today is April 26th, 2016. Due to me being sick over the weekend, I was not able to blog at the race. I wish I would have been able too! We have bunch of news for you guys! If you did go to the race, you would know that we placed 4th out of 7. I am also very excited to say we won the Spirit of Greenpower award. Woo! Also, Congratulations to Discovery for 1st place, Whitesburg for 2nd place, and Challenger for 3rd! You guys did great and showed a lot of effort. Using our resources around us, we are trying to make changes to our car! I cannot wait to look back on here next year and see what the car looks like for the next race! I wish I could blog for you guys next year, but sadly I cannot. I would blog 24/7 if I could! I am sad to have to leave this team for high school. Today is Tuesday, April 19, 2016. What Are We Doing Today? Today, we are working on presentation, wheel covers, cleaning, fixing our trifold, and blog. We are working on our alternate presentation for the people from China. They are coming tomorrow and we are practicing to make sure we are prepared. We cannot wait! We are working with the wheel covers because we need to put them on. They cover up the spokes which allows us to go a little faster. Lindsey worked on them and revamped them. They look amazing , to be honest! I cannot wait to see what people think of our car at the race. We are cleaning because we need our working space to be organized and tidied up for our visitors that will be coming tomorrow. If we are not organized, they might think that we are not prepared and messy. Therefore, that judgement reflects towards our team, car, and school. We defiantly do not want to be viewed that way! We are fixing our trifold because we want it down here for people to get a basic synopsis of what we do, what we will do, what we have done, and who we are. We want them to be impressed with our team and for them to think that we are unique. Last but certainly not least, I am working on the blog. There are no updates for the blog, however I will continue putting a countdown until the race day is here. So, keep on counting down until the race day is here!!! It is 4 days away! Good morning, Grizzlies.
Today is Monday, April 18, 2016. What Are We Doing Today? Today, we are still cleaning up and using a scrutineering list and marking off stuff that is good to go. We are still organizing our toolbox and preparing for the people to come on Wednesday. We are making sure we have everything ready and prepared for Wednesday. I believe we are wearing our polos on Wednesday, so we look presentable and neat. We do not want to give off a bad impression to the people observing our tasks, team, and car. The race is in 4 days and it is coming up really fast. We are so anxious for race and presentation day. I know we will do great! With more to come, Carlee from Green Grizzlies Shop!Good morning, Grizzlies! Today is Friday, April 15, 2016. What Are We Doing Today? Today, we are in the shop. We are working on a few things. We are working on cleaning and organizing the shop, power-point, and race day checklist. Why are we working on cleaning because we need are shop in order and also we have people coming from China to learn about our car. We do not want people thinking we are messy and unprepared. We want to do and look our best! We are organizing our toolbox, sweeping, and cleaning off tables. I really do hope it will be cleaned enough for Wednesday! We are also creating an alternate, short power-point to present to the people from China. We do not want a long presentation because we will not have much time! We do hope they enjoy seeing and hearing from us! We hope they are impressed with our behavior and car! We are working on a race day checklist as well. We need to have everything for race day, therefore we are creating a list so we make sure we have everything before we leave for the race. I hope we keep everything clean until Wednesday! I am sure we will though! Update: We have not added anything new to the blog. Like I said the other day, I do not think I will have anything to add to the blog before the year ends. I know that is very sad and the blogger for next year will surely have lots of ideas. The school year is coming to an end very fast and it is very sad because I have enjoyed this program and teams from both years. We have learned so much and have prepared ourselves for our future. I am so glad that I decided to do Greenpower! Answer to yesterday's riddle: A Clock! Riddle of the day: What has 4 legs, then two legs, then 3 legs? With more to come, Carlee from Green Grizzlies Classroom! Good morning, Grizzlies!
Today is Thursday, April 14, 2016. What Are We Doing Today? Today, we are practicing our presentation. Normally when we are in the classroom, we practice the power-point and answer potential questions that will be asked at the presentation. I think that it is important that we do this until the day that we have to present. It will give us great practice. We also went down to the 1st graders' Lemonade Stand. Most of us got lemonade. This is a great example because when we do fundraisers like this, we would want them to buy/ donate to us. I think they had a great idea and hopefully will put good use to those fundraising skills. Other than presenting, we are working on booklets. The booklets give us information about our team and members and the race. This is super important that we get them done because we still need to print them! Update: There are still no updates for today's blog. I do not know if I will be able to come up with more things to add to the blog before the end of the year. If I do, I will tell you guys! I will not be putting the quote on the picture today, due to the time. I will continue to put the schedule on here though! I am sorry for the delay of the blog and I will post a picture and quote on tomorrow's blog! 8 Days until the race! Answer to yesterday's riddle: teapot Riddle of the day: Q: What has hands but cannot clap? With more to come, Carlee from Green Grizzlies Shop!Good morning, Grizzlies. Today is Wednesday, April 13, 2016 What We Doing Today? Today, we are in the shop. We have someone painting wheel covers, organizing our tool box, working on alignment, booklets, and voltmeter. Why are we painting our wheel covers? We are painting our wheel covers because we didn't want them to be basic and just plain. Why are we organizing our tool box? We are organizing our toolbox because we use our tools a lot and we never get them time to make sure they go back where they need to go. Therefore, we are organizing it, so we are able to have tools to use. If we do not do this, we will not have any tools to fix any problems that involve the tools. Why are we working on alignment? Alignment is super important and is the one of the main things that we do not need a problem with. Our car has to be able to ride and take us as many laps as we can go. If it is not fixed and out in place, we cannot drive our car. Why are we working on booklets? We are working on booklets because they give each member information about race day. It's very important that we do not lose our booklets. The booklets also have the rules and the team we will be timing on race day. This is very important! Why are we working on the voltmeter? We are working on the voltmeter because we need it to show us what our voltage in our batteries are. We will need to use this during the race because we need to make sure our batteries are charged and that they are wired correctly. We hope we get all of our tasks completed today! Update: We still have not gotten any suggestions from you guys. Like I say all the time, we love to hear feedback and your ideas for our blog. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or suggestions, please fill out our survey, email us, or comment below! We cannot wait to hear what you have to say! Answer to Monday's riddle: A snail! Riddle of the Day: Q:What starts with the letter “t”, is filled with “t” and ends in “t”? With more to come, Carlee from Green Grizzlies shop Today we are working in the shop. There are multiple jobs going on. Ivan from Tom Jeffrey's Sign and Banner Company is here helping us put our decals on as well as wrapping our tail cone. The purpose for this is we are trying to get awarded best design to help us add points to our total score. We're also working on wheel covers, and booklets. The people on booklets are writing things down for each individual member of Greenpower to help with race day. Our volt meter is being fixed as well as our alignment on the car. The volt meter was working fine during a practice this past Saturday, but in the middle of it, the volt meter just decided to stop working. Occasionally, our alignment becomes off, and we have to fix that as well. Race day is on the 23rd, so we are trying to get ready as soon as possible. We have set practices coming up for the future to help prepare.
