Classroom!![]() Good morning, Grizzlies! Today is Thursday, March 31, 2016. What are we doing today? Today, we are practicing our presentation. A teacher came in today and gave feedback on our presentation. His feedback was pretty good! I am really proud of our team! He said that we should be proud of it because it is really good. He had a few comments, but it is nothing we cannot fix. The comments mostly focused on our speech. He said when I present the blog slide that I need more content, which that is no problem! I think that if we give it a couple days we will absolutely nail this presentation. He also mentioned something about our brochures. He said that handing them out in the middle of the presentation, might be a little distracting from who is speaking during the time. I completely agree! We want everyone to be heard! He said that we should try handing them out before the ENTIRE presentation. I think if we do it this way that we will have a better chance at everyone being heard. I surely do hope we do great! I feel really great about the presentation. While we are on this topic of changes, Thomas did the blog yesterday! I think he did a good job! He is going to do great for next year! I will be reading every blog!!! I can't wait! It is going to be really sad when the 8th graders of Greenpower leave. We will miss the Green Grizzlies!! With more to come, Carlee from Green Grizzlies

Classroom!Good morning everybody today is March 30, 2016!
What are we doing? We are mostly working our presentation today. Pete and John worked on the fixing the PowerPoint. While the rest of us did our jobs making booklets or working on the blog like I am doing. We also practiced presenting our presentation once it was fixed and ready to go. We need to work on speaking louder and not fidgeting. Hoping I get to do the blog more, Thomas of the Green Grizzlies Shop!![]() Good morning, Grizzlies! Today is Tuesday, March 29th, 2016. What are we doing today? Today, we are in the shop, as you can see from the title. We are mainly preparing for our practice that will occur from 3-4, I believe. We are having this practice because we need to get prepared for the actual race. The race is in less than a month and it's coming up really fast! I can't believe it! We are zooming through this year pretty fast and I am truly going to miss Greenpower. Maybe at the end of the year, I will have a super long blog update for you guys! That will be my final goodbye to the group and it will be very sad. Last year and this year has been really fun! I have high hopes into the next generation Greenpower team. In our practice, we will really only need our pushers, pit, and drivers, of course! I hope everything goes great at the practice! Nathan and I are also teaching our fellow, seventh grade member, Thomas, how to use the website. I am teaching him everything to know about to blog. There really isn't much to learn about the blog. It is mostly like word and it is very easy to use. The only thing that is tricky about it is the content you put into it and color. I like to add color to the blog, but if there is too much color, it is hard to highlight a big mass of text. Basically, that is the only reason I do not add much color to the blog anymore. I really enjoy the color, too! Nathan is teaching him how to use the website and how to edit it! I think that since we are teaching him, that he will have everything he needs to know for the blog. I have big hopes for the team next year and I hope they hold title to our name! I can't wait to see what next year looks like for the Greenpower team! With more to come, Carlee from Green Grizzlies Classroom!![]() Good morning, Grizzlies! Today is Monday, March 28th, 2016. We are practicing and editing our presentation. We are doing really good on our presentation and it's really great! I think that if we practice more times, we will perfect this power point. I cannot wait to see how we score in the presentation category. I really hope we do great! It's really important that we practice as much as we can. It's actually quite scary to me at the moment. I have grown to practice in front of my team, but I am really nervous for the real thing. I hope we do great and if we make any flaws, that we perfect our flaws during the presentation. I can't wait for the presentation and the race! It's always fun and exciting seeing hard work put to good use! I think we are rearranging the slides, so they correspond and relate to each other, other than all jumbled up.I think that this will help us focus and make it easier for us to present our presentation. We hope the judges are impressed with our presentation that we practice a bunch on and enjoy it! We have our first practice tomorrow(March 29th,2016). Only pit, drivers, and pushers need to be there. Our race is Saturday, April 23rd, 2016! We would like you guys to come out and watch our race. It is really exciting to watch, to me. This time, I will be blogging during the race and give you guys a synopsis of what went on during the race. GRIZZLIES! I NEED YOUR HELP!!! I need more suggestions of things to add to the blog. I can't think of anything else that I can add, so maybe you guys have an idea or something that you would like to see when you read our blog. I have already added daily quotes and pictures. I just need to think of more things that I can add. You can either comment on a recent blog update or email us at: Grizzlygreenpower@gmail.com. We would love to hear suggestions and feedback. It is always great! So, type away, Grizzlies! With more to come, Carlee from Green Grizzlies good morning, grizzlies.Today we are working heavily on presentation. Everyone is in high-gear mode, spread out with an audience of 1 to critique and give them constructive criticism. For the people who aren't working on presentation, they are working with either Ivan, or testing the batteries.
Ivan is working on the tail cone with Lindsey, Thomas, and Pete. They are also working on new decals for the car. The people on battery testers are with Mr. Kruse, and they are working on testing the wiring. The people on presentation are lined up at certain spots in the shop, set to perform their part of the power point for an audience, which is just other members of Greenpower. After that we are lining up to present as a group, and having everyone who was on the "audience job" listening and seeing what they should or should not do as a group. We have hour and a half practices coming up after the break, where we will practice like it's the real race, our drivers racing for 30 minute each, stopping for pit, pushing, and timing each lap, as well as the total amount of laps in an hour and a half. Good morning, Grizzlies. Today is Thursday, March 17th, 2016. Happy St. Patrick's Day! I hope you are all wearing green today! What are we doing today? Our mentor, Ms. Amos, said we were not driving today. However, they did take the car outside. I think they are going to practice pit. Almost in every blog, I state how what we are doing is important. I don't just make all this stuff up, I really do mean it, you guys! It is really important to practice pit and driving. If we practice pit, we are practicing communication skills with each other. If we are practicing driving, we are practicing for the race, so what we know what to do. I think that it is really important and I hope that we continue to practice important skills. If they do come back inside, we will work on the following things listed:tail-cone, presentation, and cleaning the shop. Tail-cone: We are working on this because we want to improve our car to make it more efficient and faster. As I say almost every blog, it’s important that we work on the tail cone because our goal is doing better and improving our car. Mr. Timlin is here helping us with the tail cone. We can’t wait to see the final outcome of the tail cone! It will look great and hopefully allow us to improve in this race. Presentation: We are working on this because we need lots of practice for the presentation for the judges. I think we are doing great so far. We really want our presentation to be perfect for the judges. We almost had a perfect score for our fall race, so we have a really good chance this time. We have made a lot of improvements and they have helped us so much. I really have enjoyed seeing them practice because I see how much they improve each time. I have been taking my presenting time and have been typing the blog instead. I do not have much to say anyhow, so it will be okay! I have my part down like everyone else! Cleaning the shop: We are cleaning the shop because we all have different jobs and we never get the chance to clean it while we are doing our jobs. The people who don’t have jobs at the moment are sweeping and cleaning up the shop. It can get messy in here, due to us making the tail-cone and taking off decals. You wouldn’t think it would be much, but it is. We need our shop to be organized and clean, so we can know where our tools are when we are making adjustments. We also have to have it clean, so we can have a clean place to set our car and have the ability to work on our car. Joke of the Day: Q: Why can’t you borrow money from a leprechaun? A: Because they ‘re always a little short! With more to come, Carlee from Green Grizzlies good morning, grizzlies.Today we are doing three things. The first thing we're doing is going outside on the track to practice pit. We time how long it takes to push the driver into the pit, switch drivers, and push to the racing zone again. We have a consistent 15-16 seconds, but we can get it much better with practice.
The other thing we're doing is working on the presentation and tail cone. The presentation people are practicing and presenting to each other to see what they need to improve on and what they're doing right. Then there are the people working on the tail cone, and side panels. They are just touching it up, cleaning it, etc. Shop!![]() Good Morning, Grizzlies! Today is Tuesday, March 15, 2016! We are working on tail-cone, presentation, pit, cleaning the shop, and blog. Tail-cone: We are working on this because we want to improve our car to make it more efficient and faster. I have been taking my presenting time and have been typing the blog instead. I do not have much to say anyhow, so it will be okay! I have my part down like everyone else! Pit: We are working on pit because we need practice for the race. We need to make sure we know what we are doing. We have to make sure we are prepared for the race, so when the time comes that we don't mess up and get off on the wrong track. I think that we know our jobs and we are really good at them. Some days, we just have our days were we aren't our best, but by experiencing that we are preparing for the best. I hope that we all know it is okay to make mistakes. You just need to know that you can always do better. There is always room for improving in Greenpower! I will be adding pictures and jokes to the blog EVERYDAY. I think that it will hopefully attract more people to our blog and website. If it is what you would prefer, then I will add it to the blog. If it makes it more enjoyable for you guys, then I will add it! Thank you for you feedback! Side Note: The band teacher for our school gave us something that we could possibly use as wheel covers. By the looks of it, I think they just might work. Of course, we will have to bend them a little bit, but as long as it work, we are fine with them. I cannot wait to see how they turned out and hope we can use them! Joke of the Day: Q: What position does a Leprechaun play on baseball? A: Shortstop! With more to come, Carlee from Green Grizzlies classroom!![]() Happy Pi Day! Good morning, Grizzlies! Today is Monday, March 14, 2016. We are working on our presentation. The race is coming up very soon! I cannot wait! We are going to do so well! I think that we have practiced enough so far, but there is more room to improve. With that room to improve, we can perfect our presentation. We hope to do so!I think it’s really important because it allows us to be prepared and ready other than being scrambled and unprepared. The judges will see us as responsible and that’s what we really need. We have to remember that our team and our actions reflect upon our car and school. We do not want to make our school and car look bad. I think us practicing is great and it is great that we are discussing the questions as well. It would be bad for us and we would get nowhere. Therefore, let us be prepared for the presentation and be able to professionally answer questions that may or may not be asked. I think confidence is one thing that judges love to see other than preparedness. They like seeing the groups believe in themselves and work hard to produce a great outcome. I see a lot of confidence in Greenpower. Not only our team, but a lot of other teams have a lot of confidence and that’s really important. Many of the teams are very proud of the car and their process of making the car. I think that is really amazing how people build a strong confidence and present it to others around them. They create a reflection off of themselves towards their team, car, and school. We always want to be confident because we want to represent our school. The race is coming up in April. We all know that dates come faster than they should and you should always be prepared for it. We aren’t procrastinating on any task that we need done. We are getting done what we need to get done and I think that is important. Like I have said before, it doesn’t matter if you win or lose. It matters about how much effort you put into the work and what you did to TRY to win. If you at least attempt to reach your goals, you might make it. If you sit around, you aren’t going to make it anywhere. We have to make sure our car is 100 percent safe. By doing that, we have to take our time on improving things. If we don’t, we could end up hurt. We do not want to end up hurt. Another thing is that people are all worked up about winning. Although victory is a great feeling to feel, how is it beneficial to us? How does it make us better people? I think if you can be a good person when you “lose”, it shouldn’t matter if you win or lose the next time. If you’re a sore loser about something, you need to try harder the next time and be a better person about it. Winning and losing is not the important thing. Titles are important at all. I think that is where people get carried away with it. If you try your best, you will succeed. I guaranteed you that! Joke of the day: Q: What does a leprechaun call a happy man wearing green? A: A Jolly Green Giant With more to come, Carlee from Green Grizzlies good morning, grizzlies.Today half of our class is out of school for a band concert. We are continuing to work on cleaning the shop, as well as the car. Josh M and Connor are working on the tail cone. Since there are people out, we can't really practice pit, or driving, or pushing. We can't really practice anything, so we're taking this time to clean. Monday we should be back to normal.
