Today we are testing our new batteries. The test will determine which batteries we will use on race day. We are still trying to 3-D print our nacaduct. In case you didn’t read yesterday’s blog the nacaduct is a cooling system for our motor. It will bring cool air into the motor compartment and keep the motor from being overheated and running out to quickly. We had a new camera donated to the team for race day pictures and pictures during class.
Riddle of the day: an old lady forgets her driver’s license at home. She travels down a one-way street the wrong way. She does not stop at stop signs, or stop for people crossing the road. A cop is watching her do this but does not give her a ticket. Why didn’t he give her a ticket? With more to come, Josh and Sean

Today we are watching the final version of our Whitesburg video presentation. We finished filming last week and spent as much class time as we could to edit it and make it as good as possible. We are trying to 3d print our new nacaduct. It will pull air into our motor compartment to cool it off during the race. This will ensure that our battery will not overheat and die quickly in the middle of the race. We will continue improving our car as needed until race day at Whitesburg p-8
Answer to yesterday’s riddle: your breath. Joke of the day: a recent scientific discovery showed that 223,455,988,123,678.435% are too lazy to read that whole number. With more to come, Josh and Sean Today, in the shop we are cleaning the car from the Whitesburg practice we had. Since it had rained beforehand the car had to drive through dirt and mud left on the track. Our drivers are reviewing the track and making notes of what they need to pay attention to the most. Ian, Corbin, and Christina are calculating the watt hours per lap ratio to find out how much voltage our batteries will have after each lap, and to find out if we can change to a different gear for either more torque or more speed.
Today’s riddle: What is as light as a feather but impossible to hold for 20 minutes? With more to come Sean Today, in the shop we are preparing for our practice at the Whitesburg track. This will be a great way for our new drivers to get some practice and learn the track. We are also reviewing what we have of our video presentation. We hope to be finished soon and make it as perfect as possible. Pete, Aiden, and Christina our installing an Adriano screen to replace our voltmeter. This will give our drivers a more accurate view of our battery power.
Answer to yesterday’s joke: A blazer Today’s inspiration: Start by doing what’s necessary; then do what’s possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible. Francis of Assisi With more to come Josh and Sean Today we are spending some time to do driver qualifications for our next race. Doing these qualifications gives us the most accurate times for the people that try out. We then went back to the classroom when it started to rain. Tomorrow we will finish the qualifications and choose our drivers. In the classroom Aiden, Corbin, Sadie, and Pete are working on the plans for our car show. We hope to have a good amount of profit from this event.
Answer to yesterday’s riddle: John said that he could predict the score before the game and said 0-0 because the score before any game is always 0-0. Joke of the day: What do call a coat that goes up in flames? With more to come Sean Today Will V and Christina are editing the go-pro footage from our video presentation, Will was in the car and we filmed him with the go-pro attached to his helmet. We are planning a practice so we can test our batteries to make sure that that they will last the full ninety minutes at Whitesburg. We are trying to find the correct gear ratio to give us the best amount of both speed and torque for the races we will attend. Our final race is on May 13th, 2017 at Whitesburg p-8. We will race against most of the same teams we raced last time, hopefully we will come in a higher place then the last race but the presentation will help.
Riddle of the day: John bets Tom $100 that he can predict the score before the football game starts. Tom agrees, but loses the bet. Why did tom lose? With more to come, Josh and Sean Today we are in the shop to clean up and practice for our presentation. We wish to make the video presentation as perfect as possible and with as little mistakes possible. To prepare, many of us are reciting our parts in our heads, and to other people. In case any of us forget our lines, our public relations team is working on the cue cards to help for the presentation. Video presentations take a lot of work and time, so tomorrow, we are going to start recording the video presentation.
Inspirational Quote: “The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today.” H. Jackson Brown, Jr. Answer to yesterday’s joke: Choco-LATE With more to come, Sean and Ian |
